Grasse used to excel in the making of hand gloves, but became the world capital of perfume during the 17th century. The flower fields around the town are used to the production of a few famous fragrances. The perfume houses (Fragonnard, Gallimard, etc.) welcome you for a visit to their ateliers where these subtle perfumes are made. This lovely town of the Mediterranean hinterland also offers a great view on the bay of Cannes.
